What a Week...



This week has been super busy and i honestly did not work on the game. I added a few steps to the top deck and made it so that top of the ship is open. The sky dome is under work and april has finished our guide to impliment into the game. We are still have problems programming the game and our animation is pretty terrible but the next five weeks should see some tremendous improvement over this version.




The next couple of weeks will see the level design completely done. This includes all the walls textured and most of the models and gameplay elements placed in the level. I redid the map as seen below and just need to put the finishing touches on the final build of the level.

Texture

Can't believe i didn't think of this on staturday but since i want the walls of the brushes to be on the ship anyway. I can just put an opcaticy map on the walls i don't want to show up so that we can make it appear the player is outside on the ship top deck. That way we can add a sky and water without the player actually falling off the ship.

I wish i would have built the entire ship in 3ds max now... but the textures probably would not look as clean.

Game Production 3 Update



The ship level is well underway. I finished the bottom level of the ship last night and need to build the top deck in UDK as well, since you wont see the outside of the ship i won't even bother to develop the side of the ship, just the top deck. Everything should be pretty easy to texture this way,the textures should align up nicely and no unwrapping needed.
